Stork – Videoclip 2021

Presentation of initial thoughts for the first meeting with the team.

The original idea of the videoclip is to portrait the beauty of this city as I see it; in black and white, dark and dirty. It’s also an artistic response to this late mouvement of super saturated color representing Morocco in general ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pigUGIIj0ro ).

When I thought first of painting is to apply this same artistic approach of desaturating this paintings and appropriate them in a way. That’s why I don’t mind using famous paintings too because at the end it will still be moroccan and from Casablanca.

Also why I choose painting is to stimulate the viewer subconscious but also to have this beauty of well constructed frame because I like shapes symmetry representing chaos throw order.

So I regrouped some paintings and ordered them by mouvement and artist. The famous painting that I like and don’t mind reappropriate because they were always part of my visual education.

And also the orientalist movement with whom I have this hate/love relationship and for me is quite nice materiel to work with. Finally I also tried to look for famous moroccan painter but the be honest except the abstract ones I can’t find something that talk to me.
